Joyce is a current doctoral student in the Education Policy and Leadership Program at the University of ÀË»¨Ö±²¥ (ÀË»¨Ö±²¥) with teaching experience in elementary and college classrooms. Prior to this, she earned a B.A. in English Literature and Cultural Anthropology, Master of Public Policy, and J.D. from the University of Michigan, followed by a Master of Arts in Teaching from Johns Hopkins University, as well as a B.S. in Biological Sciences, M.P.S. in Industrial Organizational Psychology, and Graduate Certificate in Nonprofit Management and Leadership from ÀË»¨Ö±²¥. Joyce has practiced as an attorney in Washington DC, worked in higher education for over six years, and is a certified life coach.

In 2023-2024, Joyce serves as Department Assembly Representative of the ÀË»¨Ö±²¥ TLPL Graduate Student Association, Member at Large on the ÀË»¨Ö±²¥ Asian Pacific American Alumni Network Board, Member of the American Educational Research Association Div. G Graduate Student Executive Committee, and as Junior Newsletter Editor on the American Educational Research Association Graduate Student Council. Her research interests broadly focus on students’ academic transitions and impacts on marginalized and under-represented student populations.
